Traumatic Stress Clinic

The Traumatic Stress Clinic provides cutting-edge, evidence-based treatments and undertakes world-class research for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and prolonged grief. The Clinic is an affiliation between a number of researchers, organisations and clinical psychologists, and is directed by Professor Richard Bryant.
The Traumatic Stress Clinic offers three distinct treatment programs. One program offers individual treatment for people who have experienced a traumatic event in adulthood more than one month ago and continue to experience post-traumatic stress reactions that cause them distress and interfere with their daily functioning. Another treatment program offers individual treatment for current and former emergency service workers including Police, Firefighters, Paramedics and Military personnel who are experiencing ongoing distress related to traumatic events experienced during their careers. The final treatment program offers individual treatment for people who have experienced the death of a loved one more than 12 months ago and who continue to experience intense grief reactions that cause them distress and interfere with their ability to complete daily tasks.
