What to do if someone is heading towards a Mental Health Crisis?

Early intervention – what should I do if I suspect that I am becoming unwell?

Sometimes you might be able to identify when your are becoming unwell. To prevent the risk of relapse or crisis, it is important to get professional help early, by being mindful of any changes in your behaviour or how you are feeling.  It is important to discuss these things with a treatment provider such as a case manager, Community Mental Health Team, General Practitioner (GP) or a therapist. You can also contact the Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511 if you feel unsure about the appropriate service to contact. These services can assist you in identifying early signs and can help you in developing a crisis intervention plan to help you in preventing from things getting worse or reducing the effects of a crisis on you or your family and friends.
