What is a Mental Health Emergency/Crisis?
A mental health crisis can be an individual’s intensive emotional or behavioural response caused by the onset of an acute episode of mental illness that may be triggered by an event or change in a persons circumstances.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis you may feel overwhelmed with your situation and unable to cope any longer. You may think about or feel like harming yourself or others.
It is vital that if you are experiencing a mental health crisis, you receive the correct care as soon as possible to prevent possible harm to yourself or others around you. Early care and support can  prevent your mental health from getting worse.
